Once your agenda and transcript are ready, ClerkMinutes can write a first draft of your minutes. You review it, make any changes, and approve it.
Before you start
Make sure you have:
At least 3 agenda items in the Agenda tab, matching what happened in the meeting.
A recording uploaded and transcribed in the Recording & Transcript tab.
Speakers assigned in the Transcript & Speakers tab. This is optional, but it makes your minutes much more accurate.
Generate your minutes
Open your meeting and go to the Minutes tab.
Choose a length.
Choose a tone.
Add custom instructions if you'd like (see "How to use custom instructions").
Click Generate Draft Minutes.
Choosing a length
Length | What you get |
Short | Action minutes only. The most concise option. |
Medium | Minutes for each agenda item, plus motions. |
Long | Detailed minutes for each agenda item, plus motions. |
Choosing a tone
Pick the tone that matches how your minutes are usually written: Professional, Business Formal, Casual Language, or Official Gov Meeting.
Tip: Not happy with the first draft? Change the length, tone, or instructions and generate again. You can re-generate as many times as you need, at no extra cost.
For very long meetings, Short or Medium usually gives you a draft that's easier to review.
