To get a transcript and minutes, start by adding your meeting's recording. You can upload a file or paste a link to a video that's already online.
Before you start
Open the meeting and go to the Transcript & Speakers tab.
Make sure the meeting has its agenda added. ClerkMinutes uses it together with the recording to write accurate minutes.
For the best results, use a recording with clear audio (see Get better results from your recording).
Option 1: Upload a file
On the Transcript & Speakers tab, select Upload audio or video.
Drag a file into the box, or click to choose one from your computer.
Wait for the upload to finish.
Supported formats:
Type | Formats |
Audio | MP3, WAV, AAC, FLAC, OGG, OPUS |
Video | MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI |
ClerkMinutes works with over 100 audio and video formats, so if yours isn't listed, try it anyway.
Limits:
Maximum file size: 7 GB
Maximum length: 17 hours
Option 2: Paste a video link
Use this if your meeting is already on YouTube, Vimeo or Zoom.
On the Transcript & Speakers tab, choose the link option for your platform: YouTube, Vimeo or Zoom.
Paste the video's web address.
Confirm.
Link requirements
The video must be public or accessible by link, with no sign-in or password.
Use the link to one video, not a playlist or channel.
If a link doesn't work, you can download the video and upload the file instead.
Which should I use?
If your recording is... | Use |
A file on your computer or from a recorder | Upload a file |
Already posted on YouTube, Vimeo or Zoom | Paste the link |
On a platform that isn't listed | Download it and upload the file |
What happens next
Once your recording is added, ClerkMinutes transcribes it automatically. This usually takes about 2 to 4 minutes for each hour of recording, so a two-hour meeting is ready in a few minutes. Parts of the transcript that ClerkMinutes is less sure about are marked so you can check them.
When it's finished, the transcript appears on the Transcript & Speakers tab, with speakers named where ClerkMinutes could match them to your members.
When the transcript is ready, here’s how it looks:
