How to improve transcript accuracy

Why a transcript might have mistakes, and what you can do about it.

If your transcript has more mistakes than you'd expect, the cause is almost always the audio in the original recording.

Note: You can generate 100% correct minutes with 73% correct transcript. You do not need to have it correct.

Check your recording

Ask yourself:

  • Were people speaking clearly, loudly, and at a steady pace?

  • Were several people talking over each other?

  • Was there a lot of background noise?

  • Does the recording have sound throughout, or are parts of it empty?

  • Was the audio cleaned up or edited before uploading? Uploading the original works best.

These issues can't be fixed after the meeting, but they're easy to improve for next time. See "Tips for recording your meeting".

Fix this transcript

You can correct the transcript line by line. Click any line to edit it. The highlighted words show where ClerkMinutes was least sure, so start there.

Tip: Your minutes can still come out accurate even when the transcript isn't perfect. Fix the key names and facts, generate your minutes, then review the minutes rather than every line of the transcript.

Still not right?

If the whole transcript looks wrong even though the audio is clear, email [email protected] with the meeting name. We can re-process the recording for you.
